A charming little hotel in a charming little city. Where to start?  Well, the location is near perfect:  Nestled in the picturesque residential enclave of San Roman, on an adorable square centered with a gazebo--just a 10 minute walk from Campeche's historic center and a block away from the seafront malecon.  The church on the corner is cute enough, too--though the 630a bells heralding 7a mass are decidedly less so.  You have been warned. My room, #10, is officially a junior suite, and highly recommended:  About 500 square feet, nice king bed, and a rain shower (that dribbles).  But better still, this second floor accommodation features its own private terrace, large enough to host a stand-up cocktail reception of 15 of your closest friends.  All of this overlooks the hotel's small garden and plunge pool.  High luxury for $35 a night.  AC works well, and there is even a hammock you can set up inside if you please. The church bells and anemic shower are my only misgivings here, and the hotel staff more than makes up for them.  Jose was an absolute life-saver as he found a laundry to wash my clothes on a holiday weekend, then found me a driver to make the trip. $35 will buy you two movie tickets and a small popcorn.  Or the quirky luxury of one of Campeche's coolest little hotels.  Plan on making it your home when visiting this Mexican jewel box of a city...

Nice place, big rooms, small pool and garden. Very friendly staff. Kitchen in the garden with shared fridge, full of non alcoholic drinks and juices free of charge. Also nice coffee and sweet breads are there for you to eat all day long.

This was a very nice hotel with a great backyard, pool and service. They have a kitchen with refrigerator, boiled water, sugar, coffee, tea, milk and bread available for guests with no extra cost. There is alot of free parking in the nearby streets. The odor in the lobby is really magical - we are very happy with the hotel and the service.

Hotel Maculis is a lovely home away from home in Campeche. The location and amenities are nice, but what made it extra special was the kindness of the staff!

A quirky unassuming welcoming hotel, with amenities like 24hr kitchen availability and a pool where you can do your feet to keep cool. There are also 4 turtles on the property.

The staff at the Maculis were exceptional. Helpful, with excellent advice for what to do, where to go and most importantly, where to eat! The common is kitchen a very nice touch since I get up way too early and like my coffee soon after. No need to bother anyone, just help yourself. It was instant, but there was a hotel room sized coffee maker in the room as well. Bonus, there is also a mini bar in the foyer for a limited choice of adult beverages. We had a clean and comfortable room on the ground floor which was quiet and nice and dark once the shutters were closed (#7). There is a nice patio by the pool with comfortable chairs for relaxing with your coffee or in the evening with your beer. This hotel was a pleasant surprise and if you stay here and we think that you will not be disappointed. Thanks Maculis.

Great value option, don't expect luxury but rooms are ok, shared kitchen available for free and a small pool was clean

A very happy place a bit outside the inner city of Campeche: perfect to relax on the little pool in the patio of this very nice building. Also the service staff was very friendly and helpful and gave us a warm welcome. The little kitchen allowed us to prepare a nice breakfast and evening snack. Definitely a warm recommendation from our side.
